kafka on the shore

Minimalist book art for possibly my favourite Haruki Murakami novel, Kafka on the Shore. I really, really loved the metaphors and personified mental concepts in the book. If you haven’t read it or are new to Haruki Murakami, this is one novel I strongly recommend!

Any Murakami fans out there who have/haven’t read this awesome book? Do you love it as much as I did? What’s your favourite Murakami?

  1. I like this book but it’s really not my favourite from Haruki Murakami. For me the best one is ”A Wild Sheep Chase\” and then ”The Wind-Up Bird Chronicle”.

    • Oh I’ve read A Wild Sheep Chase too, and Dance, Dance, Dance, which is sort of a sequel to that book. I really liked South of the Border, West of the Sun too! That was the first Haruki Murakami novel I read so I especially liked it.

  2. I loved Kafka on the shore, but my absolute favorites are The wind-up wird chronicle and Hard-boiled wonderland and the end of the world! I somehow really don’t like South of the border, west of the sun though….

    • The wind-up bird chronicle seems to be many people’s favourite Murakami book! I haven’t read it yet though, probably should some time soon.
